Dekart Inc. and BioLink Technologies International, Inc. join forces to integrate data security and strong AES encryption with biometric identification

Dekart Inc., Netherlands and BioLink Technologies International, Inc., US, announced a partnership to deliver a combination of security infrastructure solutions, addressing new customer requirements in the rapidly growing authentication, authorizations, and administration ("AAA") market. The two companies introduced their integration of the Dekart authentication and data privacy solutions and BioLink fingerprint matching technologies and products to deliver strong authentication solutions for enterprise and individual users.

The two companies' product integration implements a joint solution including fingerprint scanning devices and algorithms, produced by BioLink Technologies International, with Dekart authentication and data privacy solutions. This provides much greater security for enterprise information assets by significantly reducing the potential for human factor security mistakes. Dekart authentication and data privacy solutions employ encryption algorithms certified by NIST, which allow for robust, industry-standard encryption and protection of enterprise sensitive data, while BioLink's technologies ensure reliable user identification and verification by making use of the unique human physiological characteristics – fingerprints – that cannot be stolen, lost, or forgotten.

The Dekart applications implement either two or three factor authentication, i.e. a PIN code, a hardware key (or a smart card) and, as an option, a biometric identifier. Dekart's biometrically enabled solutions are used to verify the identity of the user, his/her PIN code, and a hardware key (or a smart card). To do this, the user's fingerprints are stored as digital templates in the key, and in the process of user identification, the user's fingerprints are compared with the ones stored in the key through the enrolment process. Upon successful verification, the user is granted access to the protected resources.

BioLink offers a wide range of products and technologies for different market segments: information security, physical access, and large-scale civil and criminal identification. BioLink's core products include a family of scalable identification server appliances used both for the secure central storage of the fingerprint template database as well as to run the matching software required for identification. Dekart Authentication Solutions, including Dekart Logon (secure authorized access to information resources with hardware key or smart card and/or biometric verification), Dekart Logon for Citrix ICA Client (three-factor authentication solution for Citrix connections), Dekart Terminal logon (three-factor authentication for remote connections via Telnet and SSH protocols), and Dekart Logon for Novell eDirectory (three-factor authentication solution for Novell eDirectory ).

The joint solution provides customers with the ability to adopt a system that combines smart cards, biometrics, and PKI to address some of their heightened security needs.
