GLOBAL VIEW

The system proposed by Dekart, allows to manage in a quick and simple way the SIM Cards of the mobile phones (included the USIM of the systems UMTS), without need of the telephone.
A software with clear and intuitive graphic interface, shows all the data memorized on the SIM and allows to modify or move them with few clicks.
The heart of the system is constituted by a Smart Card reader shaped as a Pen Drive, a very compact device with of a slot for Card insertion.
The activity of connection and read/write is signalled by a red LED that lights up the transparent shell.
The peripheral is recognized as a normal Plug & Play device, but is necessary to install the specific drivers for this hardware typology, as described in the following.

NOTE
The SIM Card must be inserted in the SIM Card Reader before connecting it to the USB port. This way prevent problems due to wrong electric contact. Similarly the SIM Card must be extracted after disconnecting the reader from the USB port, following the normal operation of "Sure Hardware Removal". The card must be inserted by respecting the right side, as shown in the serigraphy on the SIM Reader.

INSTALLATION AND USE

To use the Reader/ Manager system, is necesary to install Windows drivers. First install the program SIM Reader (file SIMReader.exe), that sets up Windows to recognize the new peripheral.
Is important to answer "Continue" to all the protection warnings for correct drivers installation. After installing the Reader, we can proceed to the installation of SIM Manager software (file SIMManager.exe).
At the end of installation is advisable to re-boot the computer.

To use the SIM Manager connect the Reader with the SIM Card already inserted, to the USB port of the computer. Then start the SIM Manager program, that shows immediately its simple graphic interface.
The operations we can perform are: Reading of the data, Writing and Modifying the data, Find & Replace, PIN modification, Reading of SIM Card's properties, Printing of the phonebook and the data stored on the card, Importing and Exporting the phonebook.
Among the original functions there is the possibility of exporting and importing data in CSV format (comma separated value) commonly used in databases and spreadsheets.

THE OTHER SMART CARDS

The SIM Cards of the phones, are a part of the big family of the Smart Cards, more and more diffuse in numerous activities of authentication and memorization of the data. Modern Credit Cards contain microchips that guarantees a greater security compared to traditional magnetic stripes. The Dekart SIM Card Reader, accepts almost all the kinds of Smart Cards with sizes compatible with the phone SIM Cards. After installing the device in the System, is possible to use any Smart Card management software, to read and write data. This characteristic opens the doors to innumerable functions of programming and development based on the platform Smart Card.

DEKART PRIVATE DISK

Protect the data on the removable devices (Flash Disks, Smart Cards, CDs, DVDs, etc.) is fundamental to safeguard the security. Among the numerous encrypting systems on the market, one of the best is without doubts the Dekart Private Disk. Simple to use and set up, the Private Disk creates one or more encrypted virtual disks using the algorithm AES256, in which the user can preserve the important data. All the encrypting and decrypting operations take place realtime, without perceptible slowing down.
