How to configure your operating system to work with Active Directory?

Right click the My Computer icon to select Properties.

Computer properties

Click the Network Identification tab

and select Properties. The new dialog window will appear, where we can make all necessary changes:

Identification changes

From the "Member of" list select the Domain item and add the name of your Active Directory to the active edit box (you receive this name from your network administrator).

Idenfication changes domain

Click OK . The new dialog window will appear . Enter the login name and password to enter the selected domain (the login and password must already be registered in the Active Directory domain controller – this information can be obtained from network administrator).

Domain username and password

Click OK . If the username you have just entered exists on the selected domain, the system will display a message about it and will offer to reboot the computer. The Network Identification tab will then have the following look:

System properties

Now you can enter into Active Directory domain using Dekart Logon: When Dekart Logon enters the operating system, select Domain you want to access, type in username and password registered in the required domain, or connect the hardware key storing the username and password to the computer:

Insert the smart card to Key reader

To verify the fact that you have successfully entered the required domain, go to your network neighborhood:

Network neighborhood

Select Entire Network:

Network neighborhood

Then go to Directory:

Directory

The figure above shows that you have successfully entered Active Directory and have all resources of this domain available.

If entering Active Directory failed, you will see the following dialog:

Entering Active Directory failed

This means that all resources of the required domain are inaccessible.
